Students at Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School pursue a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum--one that is both challenging and innovative. Students develop critical thinking skills and explore new ways of solving problems as they learn the traditional academic disciplines. Students discover how they learn best and challenge themselves in areas where they need to grow. The curriculum at SJND focuses on the mind, body, and spirit of the whole person.
The academic and spiritual disciplines are complemented by numerous opportunities for students to pursue athletic and co-curricular interests. There are 26 athletic teams in 10 sports for students to join and more than 27 students clubs and groups. Student activities and events are driven by a well-developed student government body called the Campus Life Team. Students develop leadership, teamwork, and social skills. The small student body allows them to become involved in many ways. Students explore new passions and become comfortable with taking risks and achieving success.
SJND’s academic rigor and spiritual exploration ensures that students are well-prepared for advanced studies, and almost all graduates continue their academic studies at the college level. Yet the aspect that sets SJND apart from other high schools is the strong sense of community. Students here are well-known by their teachers. Their teachers know their personalities, their study habits, and their interests so that they are able to guide and support students successfully. SJND is also enhanced by its connection to the Saint Joseph Community Parish. As a parish high school, both the pastor and parish members become active supporters of an SJND student’s path. SJND students have a strong sense of belonging to a community that supports them academically, spiritually and emotionally.
