The Counseling Department at SJND is an integral part of each student’s success as a student and developing young adult. The department consists of four full-time counselors dedicated to meeting the needs of students regarding all areas of academic advisement, college guidance, personal counseling, and career exploration. With a low counselor:student ratio, counselors are able to develop solid relationships with students and their families, becoming familiar with their strengths, defining areas for growth, and helping them on a path toward college and future success. 

Working closely with students, parents, and faculty is a primary goal of the Counseling Department. This is essential in supporting academic excellence and entrance to competitive universities and colleges by students.
